La profusion d’étoiles dans un ciel nocturne est un spectacle qui ne laisse personne indifférent. Face à l’infini, nous voilà happés par ce qui nous échappe. Certaines étoiles nous paraissent groupées. Notre œil les relie, il pense que cet ensemble de choses aurait une relation. Mais les étoiles sont, en réalité, très éloignées les unes des autres, et surtout elles restent indépendantes les unes des autres : l’idée de constellation n’est qu’un leurre, fruit de l’imagination des anciens, qui, se persuadant de l'existence d’Orion ou de la grande Ourse, virent là la présence de forces supérieures.

Au plus près de nous, l’imagerie médicale du cerveau met en exergue cette idée de relation, par la densité, la profusion des neurones et des synapses. Ces liens là sont bien réels, mais invisibles à l'œil nu, il nous faut le filtre de la technologie pour y accéder.

De l’immensément grand à l’immensément petit, de l’immensément ouvert à l’immensément fermé, cette installation vidéo s’intéresse aux liens tissés, aux prolongements d’un domaine à l’autre : mécanismes mentaux et neuronaux, géographie et exploration d’un territoire.

The profusion of stars in a night sky is a spectacle that leaves no one indifferent. Face to infinity, something escapes us. Some stars seem to be grouped. Our eye connects them, it thinks that this set of things would have a relation. But the stars are, in reality, very far from each other, and above all they are independent of each other : the idea of constellation is only a decoy, fruit of the imagination of the ancients, who, persuading themselves of the existence of Orion or the Big Dipper, saw there the presence of superior forces.

Close to us, medical imaging of the brain highlights this idea of a relationship, through the density, the profusion of neurons and synapses. These links are real, but invisible to the naked eye, we need the filter of technology to access them.

From the immensely large to the immensely small, from the immensely open to the immensely closed, this video installation is interested in the links forged, the extensions from one domain to another : mental and neuronal mechanisms, geography and exploration of a territory.
